I was in the Spanish mood this week and assembled some delicious specials including a wonderful paella with homemade sausage, and fresh clams and mussels in saffron broth, served sizzling hot in cast iron. I also had a wonderful Idea for reducing Don PX sherry to a glaze and grilling a duck breast with that. And a truly excellent torta that I have with bacon, spinach and cremini mushrooms.
Most importantly, Rachel crafted an decadent flan, a custard that we infused with espresso. I plan on eating five!

Special Entrees – Friday and Saturday
Soup – fire roasted red pepper
Special – Fresh Prince Edward Island Mussels and Littleneck clams baked with chicken, shrimp, and homemade sausage in a short grain rice paella with fresh herbs in a saffron broth
wine pairing – Feudi di San Gregorio Falanghina

Special – Long Island duckling breast grilled with Don PX Sherry glaze and served on a bed of goat cheese polenta with parsley, and grilled asparagus
wine pairing – Covila Crianza Rioja

This Weekend’s Prix Fixe Menu
Amuse – manchego cheese and quince fruit
Starter – bacon, spinach, cremini mushroom torta with saffron aioli
Entrees – cast iron seafood paella, grilled sherry-glazed duck breast
Dessert – Flan de Café – Espresso-infused crème caramel
