Scallops with Fennel, Filet with Morels – Specials May 13-14

Some really fun specials this weekend, themed by my desire to grill, these delicious delicacies with thrill the taste buds and satisfy the soul. It’s hard to follow a great weekend of Bourbon specials, but we still have fresh Morels, and hearty grilled foods to do just that. This is also a rare lunch for us on Saturday, as we are open 11am to 11pm for Graduation.

It certainly was fun seeing all of you enjoying some many outstanding Mint Juleps this weekend. My apologies to all of you who enjoyed them so much, and didn’t realize that just three of our Juleps are pretty close to half a bottle of Bourbon. Sorry for any headaches!

Specials – Friday, May 13
Soup – Tomato and Basil
Special – Ultra-fresh, diver-caught Maine Sea Scallop grilled and finished with roasted fennel sauce and red pepper coulis, served on a bed of chive mashed potatoes and pan-wilted baby arugula.
wine pairing – Tor Napa Valley Chardonnay

Specials – Saturday, May 14
Soup – Tomato and Basil
Special – Kansas Angus Filet Mignon finished with morel-cream-marsala sauce made with fresh, wild, local Morel mushrooms, served on a bed of white truffle mashed Yukon Gold potatoes and grilled asparagus.

This Weekend’s Prix Fixe Menu
Amuse – Butternut Squash Soup
Starter – Duroc Bacon-wrapped dates stuffed with Gorgonzola cheese, grilled with a spicy tomato-stout ketchup and served on a bed of couscous with tomatoes, grapes and pistachios.
Entrees – Grilled Scallops and Filet with Morel Sauce
Dessert – Peanut butter fudge cake – dark chocolate cake filled with Belgian chocolate ganache and topped with peanut butter mousse

Featured Cocktail -Mint Julep
fresh mint, knob creek bourbon, gomme syrup, ice cracked fresh in a lewis bag, served in a silver cup.
